Donation of Goods

CRS appreciates offers to donate furniture and white-goods to our clients. Unfortunately, CRS is not capable of directly receiving or distributing these goods.  Instead, we have an arrangement with the Salvation Army Salvos Store at Fyshwick, ACT. All donations of furniture and whitegoods to the Salvos assists with families in need, and CRS directly accesses this support for its refugee and asylum seeker clients when it is appropriate. You can drop furniture or whitegoods off to the main Salvos Store at 15 Mildura Street, Fyshwick. Alternatively, you can call 13 SALVOS (13 72 58) and ask for a pick-up from your home.

  1. We have available, free for a refugee family in need, a double bed (no mattress) in good order with headboard and two side tables with a drawer in each. Would someone be interested?

    • Hi Geoff & Una,

Thank you for your kind offer. In the past we maintained a store of household items, but the overhead became too much, so we now generally – and successfully – seek donations on an as-required basis. We currently don’t have an identified need for this item. We do appreciate that you have made this off to us.

  2. I have an excellent 3 seater couch available free to a refugee family.

I am down sizing and it is too big for present home. I have tried to sell it for months.

Just picked up your email on my site which I don’t often check – Canberra Refugee Support does not handle furniture – we refer people on to Vinnies or the Salvation Army if they have donations of furniture.Best address to use if you want to contact us is
